The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics were delayed following an agreement reached early on 24 March 2020, between the Japanese Prime Minister Mr Shinzo Abe and International Olympic Committee President Mr Thomas Bach.[1] The decision was not an easy one to make, as many people believed the delay would have a substantial negative impact on Japan’s economy. So far, many important national and international sports events have been either delayed or canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic all over the world. Many countries have enacted state emergency policies, and nearly two billion people are under quarantine right now.
