The Time Limits Before CAS – A Closer Look at Article R32 of the CAS Code (Special Report FL #17 "CAS Arbitration")

In matters of procedural law, knowing which time limits apply during a proceeding is of major importance. This also happens to be the case with regards to proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The author considers it appropriate to address this subject in light of the decision recently rendered by the CAS in a case involving the Iranian club Shahrkhodro FC and the Ukrainian player Miroslav Slavov.[1]

 

Time Limits

Parties that resort to CAS’ arbitration are subject to time limits of two different natures:

  • Fixed time limits, the duration of which is established a priori in the Code of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (the CAS...
