On 19 January 2019, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Portuguese side FC Porto under a breach of the third-party influence FIFA Regulations.
FC Porto was fined with CHF 50,000 (approx. EUR 44,000) by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee for allowing Malta-based investment fund Doyen to influence the club's transfers as a third-party. According to FIFA, FC Porto breached Article 18bis par. 1
