Training clubs can “justify” their entitlement by taking a proactive attitude towards the player so as to clearly show that the club still counts on him for the future seasons.
Facts/Procedure
The Player, who was born in 1994, was at the beginning of his training period registered with a first division Gambian club. Immediately after, he completed his first international transfer and was transferred to Valletta on 2 July 2013, at the age of 18, until 3 June 2015 (two seasons).
On 25 September 2014, through Valletta’s team manager, negotiations allegedly occurred between Valletta and the Player’s Agent to extend the relationship between Valletta and the Player. As stated in an email dated 9 January 2015 (Annex E of Valletta’s Statement of Appeal), it appears that Valletta made a first offer which was rejected by the Agent on 15 January 2015.
