The fact that Belgian clubs are prohibited from offering U16 players a contract because of their national law does not exempt them from justifying that they are entitled to training compensation. Belgian clubs must demonstrate that they had a genuine interest in retaining the services of the player in order to be entitled to a training compensation.

The Player B. was registered as an amateur with Genk from 1 July 2010 until 30 June 2014. The Player’s capacities were assessed by Genk and registered accordingly (the forms).
