In this contribution, Petros C. Mavroidis examines UEFA’s dual role as both regulator and economic operator of European club competitions. Drawing on the Super League judgment and recent empirical evidence, the article considers whether UEFA’s access and revenue distribution criteria reinforce the entrenchment of the most powerful clubs and raise new questions under EU competition law.
