The role of Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A in the commercialization of the football audiovisual rights as determined by the Italian Law

Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A (hereinafter referred to as the League) markets the sportive audiovisual rights in accordance with the regulations established by the Legislative Decree no. 9 of 9 January 2008.

Article no. 3 of the Decree enshrines that “the organizer of the competition and the organizers of the events are co-owners of the audiovisual rights concerning the events of the same competition.” In particular, the “organizer of the competition” is the subject to whom the organization of the competition is empowered or delegated by the National Sports Association recognized by the Italian Olympic Committee, which is responsible for the relevant sportive discipline.
