In its 14 October 2024 award, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed FK Liepāja’s appeal against FIFA’s determination regarding training compensation obligations. The Sole Arbitrator ruled that FK Liepāja’s appeal was inadmissible due to its failure to include FC Inhulets Petrove, the entitled recipient of the payment, as a respondent. As a result, the case was dismissed on procedural grounds without an examination of the substantive merits.
