On 2 April 2015, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld, to a large extent, the appeal filed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following the non-organization by the FRMF of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in January 2015.
Background
For the first time ever in the history of African football, a country refused to host the African Cup of Nations just a couple of weeks before kickoff.
On 10 October 2014, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) received a request from the Moroccan Ministry of Youth and Sports seeking to defer the scheduled time of the CAN, which was supposed to be held from 17 January to 8 February 2015.
