CONMEBOL Issues 28 New Disciplinary Decisions


On 12, 13, 16, 18, and 19 March 2020, the CONMEBOL Single Judge issued twenty disciplinary decisions, warning and fining seventeen clubs, four players, and two coaches after several CONMEBOL club competition matches.

A USD 3,000 (approx. EUR 2,800) fine was imposed upon Cerro Largo Fútbol Club (Uruguay). The Uruguayan club was also officially warned and informed that a repeat violation of the relevant CONMEBOL regulations would be met with more severe punishment. The club was found guilty of breaching:

  • CONMEBOL Safety Regulations: Article 25. n) (i) – forbidden banners covering the stands were present in the stadium...
