The outbreak of COVID-19 took place in China at the end of January 2020, with the Government issuing strong measures in order to control the spread of the pandemic within the country. As a result of that, almost all activities in China were abruptly interrupted, including sports.

The General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) requested all national sports federations and relevant institutions to suspend their competitions, with the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announcing on 30 January 2020 the postponement of all amateur and professional football...
