Dismissal of Criminal Match-Fixing Case Concerning Dutch Eredivisie Player Beugelsdijk

In 2021 following, inter alia, a report from gambling provider Unibet, the Rotterdam police unit, under the direction of the Functional Prosecutor’s Office (FP), launched a criminal investigation into unusual gambling behaviour surrounding the issuing of a yellow card during a football match in the Dutch premier league between Sparta Rotterdam and PSV on 16 January 2021.
