European Football Stakeholders React to New UEFA Competitions Announcements


On 24 September 2024, the European football’s governing body announced a series of measures during its latest Executive Committee meeting, including a significant increase in the distribution of solidarity for clubs not participating in UEFA-organized men’s club competitions for the 2024-2027 cycle, as well as UEFA women's football 2024-2023 strategy.

The UEFA Executive Committee convened in Prague, Czechia, on 24 September 2024, and following extensive collaboration between UEFA, the European Club Association (ECA), and the European Leagues in a dedicated Working Group and the UEFA Club Competitions Committee, several developments were announced. Notably, UEFA officially approved the allocation of EUR 308 million to non-UEFA-organized competitions participating clubs, earmarked for the explicit improvement and strengthening of clubs’ structures and governance standards.
