FIFA Dismisses Atlético de Madrid’s Appeal regarding Kieran Trippier Ban

On 18 January 2021, the world football’s governing body announced that it had dismissed the appeal filed by Spanish side Atlético de Madrid against the 10-week suspension imposed by the English Football Association (the FA).

In late December 2020, Mr Trippier was suspended for ten weeks from all football-related activity, including training sessions, after he was found guilty of breaching the FA Betting rules in July 2019. Mr Trippier was charged in early May 2020 by the FA of the said regulatory violation.
