On 7 April 2020, FIFA published a document entitled “Covid-19 Football Regulatory Issues”. This document was drafted and published in order to anticipate all enquiries and requests relating to the impact of COVID-19 on the organization of football all around the world and more specifically, on relations between clubs and players at a time when all national and international competitions had been suspended.
Presented in the form of guidelines, this document is newsworthy inasmuch as it shows the extent of FIFA's regulatory power, while also revealing a new governance method that relies essentially on dialogue and cooperation.
