Uruguayan rules concerning the suspension of football amidst the pandemic
On 13 March 2020, once the first four cases of the COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Uruguay, the Government issued Decree 93/20, which regulates the measures to be adopted in order to prevent the spread of the disease. Article 1 of Decree 93/20 declared a national health emergency, while Article 3 suspended all public gatherings (including sporting events) until further notice from the Uruguayan Government.
