Incidents related to the Champions League final: the French Minister of Sports and UEFA react


On 30 May 2022, following the incidents that tarnished the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, 28 May 2020, the French Minister of Sports and Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, met the press with the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin. On the same day, UEFA announced that it would conduct an independent investigation of the incidents.

Fans attending the 2022 Champions League final suffered from robberies, crime and insecurity by organized gangs in the French commune of Saint-Denis, where the Stade de France is located.
