[1] Football arose in England in the middle of the 19th century. Iranians became acquainted with football for the first time through British oil explorers around 1908. The Iranian Football Federation was founded in 1947. After its creation in 2016, cases related to financial and contractual disputes were referred to the Federation’s Disciplinary Committee. Although the Players’ Status Committee was established in 2016 as well, there are still significant problems facing the Iranian Football Federation, some of which are mentioned in this article.
As we know it today, most likely football was created in England in 1863.[2] As this exciting sport reached most parts of the world, it gradually entered Iran’s oil-rich regions by the British oil workers, introducing and becoming one of Iran’s most popular sports.
