On 31 March 2023, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (UEFA CEDB) decided to sanction nine football clubs participating in UEFA-organized inter-club competitions due to disciplinary breaches committed by individuals affiliated with them.
The latest disciplinary decisions taken by the UEFA CEDB are as follows:
A UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between Eintracht Frankfurt and SSC Napoli, played in Germany on 21 February 2022
Following the said match, the UEFA CEDB decided to impose severe sanctions on the German side of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Accordingly, the UEFA CEDB imposed a EUR 70,000 fine on Eintracht Frankfurt for the improper conduct of its fans while hosting SSC Napoli. Additionally, the German club was ordered to partially close its stadium during its next UEFA-organized competition match as the host team.
