Organisational Structure of the Bundesliga
Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, the two top professional football leagues in Germany, are organised by the 36 clubs participating in these leagues. In 2001, the clubs founded a non-profit association under German Law (the League Association) and organised the competitions independently from the national Football Federation Deutscher Fußball Bund e.V. (DFB) since.[1] The operational business of the league is run by DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL), a subsidiary of the League Association. DFL is responsible for the organisation and marketing of the Bundesliga competitions and functions as a service provider for the League Association and its clubs.
