Clubs and other stakeholders depend on supporters as any other industry depends on their customers, who are at the center of their activity. They define their identity and that of the clubs that depend on them. This article also aims to provide some clarifications to understand better a phenomenon related to them, specifically, the global fans, who are the ones who support several teams instead of just one and often find themselves more attached to players rather than clubs
A first and very illustrative example lies in the most recent episode of the European Super League proposal, made by some of the biggest European clubs, which fell due to the various expressions of displeasure from fans across Europe, for what they considered such an attempt clubs to increase their income economies, to the detriment of football and without considering anything more than the increase of their revenues. This reaction of the fans and the effect of it, coupled with a response that we can consider being muscular from the entities that oversee European and world football, threw this new test down a few days after its announcement, showing Europe of football that the sport and clubs do not exist for the benefit of a set of people, institutions or interests, but rather because of the thousands of fans who support them.
