The following analysis will address the current rules applicable to football agents, regardless of the source being the decree of the Italian Government, the regulations of the CONI and/or those of the FIGC.

Background

 

As this article is being written, the Stakeholders Committee and Task Force of FIFA are working hard to outline new operational rules for agents, the introduction of which is expected in October 2020.

In Italy, however, things have moved much faster, given that, in late 2017, the Italian Parliament entered the field of sports agents to change the “deregulation regime” that had been in place since the new FIFA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries entered into force on 1 April 2015.
