Legal relationships between sportsmen and clubs are regulated in Romania through Law no. 69/2000 regarding physical education and sports (the Sports Act).

According to Article 14 of the Sports Act, professional athletes may, under the conditions established by the law, conclude either labor agreements or civil conventions with their respective clubs.[1]
