Basics: The organization of Swiss Football

The Swiss Football Association (Schweizerischer Fussballverband, SFV) is the umbrella organization of Swiss football. The SFV is divided into three sections, i.e. the “Swiss Football League” (SFL), the “First League” and the “Amateur League”.

The SFL is responsible for the organization of non-amateur football within Switzerland, i.e. it organizes and governs the two highest professional football leagues.
