The establishment of the SSAC
In October 2015, the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center was established by the decision of HH. Abdullah bin Musaed bin AbdulAziz Al Saud, the President of the KSA Olympic Committee. The main aim of its establishment was (i) to enhance the quality of the sports industry in the country by creating a competent sports judicial body, and (ii) to secure the settlement of sports disputes between the different sports stakeholders in the KSA with absolute equity and equality governed by a code and procedural rules.
The SSAC is established in accordance with the international and the Saudi Olympic Charters, the rules and regulations of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and the Saudi Arbitration System.[1] The headquarters of the SSAC are located in Riyadh and the panels may sit in the headquarters or in any city of the KSA.
