Following a UEFA Champions League group stage match against Bayer Leverkusen in September 2016 the midfielder Roman Eremenko was tested positive for cocaine, following which he was given a two-year ban by UEFA.

The story was quite mysterious.

First, the Finish Football Association excluded the player from the national team saying that he had been suspended for one month. No details were provided. The one-month suspension was then extended by UEFA. In the middle of November 2016, UEFA...
