An important group of players and coaches, including renowned coach and former football player Dan Vasile Petrescu and his assistants, are suffering from an inability to force their former employer, FC Kuban (Krasnodar), to pay their salaries and contractually agreed compensations, while the club remains, nevertheless, admitted to national competitions.
During recent years, the Russian dispute resolution system has improved significantly. Decisions of the dispute resolution bodies of the Football Union of Russia (FUR) have become predictable, based on unambiguous rules and taking into account respective CAS jurisprudence. Justice is cheap and, what is most important, fast. As a result, many foreign players and coaches, employed in Russia, prefer making their choice of forum in favor of the Russian Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC).
On 14 June 2016, Dan Vasile Petrescu - the coach that had successfully been leading the team of FC Kuban for many years - returned to the club and signed a contract for one season.
Four months later, on 24 October 2016, the coach, who, by that time, had not received a single salary, was dismissed by the club, against payment of a compensation in a contractually pre-agreed amount.
