Female Referees Go on Strike in Spain


After several meetings between representatives of the female referees’ Association and the President of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (High Sports Council - CSD), Mr José Manuel Franco, the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Mr Luis Rubiales, and the President of the Spanish Women’s League, Ms Beatriz Álvarez, on 14 September 2022, an agreement was reached in which the female main referees will receive EUR 35,000 gross and their assistants EUR 18,000.
