FIFA Football Agent Regulations – The Solution brought to the Problems and its Implementation by the National Associations

In 2015, FIFA announced the FIFA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries, which included a series of new rules regarding the agency system. However, as we have seen in the past eight years, these regulations have not been seriously implemented. Following many meetings and exchanging of ideas, FIFA took a more active role in this issue and developed new, radical regulations in the agency system with the new Agents Regulations published on 3 January 2023. In this article, the national association’s implementation of the FIFA Football Agents Regulations (FFAR) is analysed and assessed.

General Information

On 3 January 2023, FIFA stated that all member associations have to regulate their own “football agent regulation” in the light of FFAR. Per this purpose, FIFA published the Model National Football Agent Regulations as a guide for member associations.

Primarily, it would be beneficial to state essential terms of the FFAR. There is a list of changes and innovations brought by the FFAR:
