FIFPRO Supports AFUTPA Labor Struggle in Panama Football

On 16 April 2022, FIFPRO reiterated its support to the Panamanian Footballers Association (Asociación de Futbolistas de Panamá - AFUTPA), which is currently negotiating a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with the Panamanian clubs and league to no avail.

On 11 April 2022, AFUTPA announced that Panamanian football players would strike if the league and clubs did not start negotiations for a CBA as stipulated by Panamanian legal institutions. Since the legal battle started, FIFPRO has been and continues to support the Panamanian union.
