FIFPro Welcomes Amendments to the 2021 WADA Code


The 2021 World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code will enter into force on 1 January 2021 and will be amended to reduce the disciplinary sanction to as little as a one month ban for athletes, where they test positive for a substance in cases unrelated to sports performance.

WADA’s prohibited list will include a new category named “substances of abuse.” Moreover, Article 10.2.4 of the WADA Code will be modified so that if athletes can prove that the use of a substance of abuse occurred...
