Ever since 1 April 2015, FIFA has abandoned the licencing system. It is indeed the date on which the new FIFA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries came into force. According to FIFA, these new Regulations aim to “offer a system that is more transparent and simpler to implement, allowing for a better control of the agents’ activity by applying homogeneously to anyone acting as an intermediary in the football business: agents, parents and lawyers”. But what will be the practical consequences for France, which had already established its own legislation on the matter? In order to clarify the subject, Jean LAPEYRE, the deputy director general of the French Football Federation (FFF) agreed to answer our questions.

One must be clear, French law retains its full legal force. FIFA Regulations becoming a substitute for French Law is out of the question.
