On 3 August 2017, two American teams, Kingston Stockade FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and The Miami FC of Division 2, filed a claim with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to require the US Soccer Federation (USSF) to adopt promotion and relegation across all divisions in US football (The clubs are represented by Jean-Louis Dupont, of the Spanish law firm Roca Junyent, together with the Zurich-based law firm Nater Dallafior). Interview with Riccardo Silva, President and Co-owner of The Miami Football Club.

Mr Silva, you are the President and Co-owner of The Miami Football Club.[1] Could you explain why you chose to invest in such a football team, especially in the USA?

I made my investment in soccer in the USA for a very simple reason - because I passionately believe in the growth potential of the game in the USA. After all, soccer is the biggest sport in the world and the USA is the biggest economy in the world. Combined, those two factors are extremely powerful which is why soccer is now the fastest growing sport...
