In 2000, Mr Xavier Thuilot was hired by the professional football club of Lille as Administrative and Financial Director. In 2002 and 2003, he was consecutively promoted to General Manager and Director of Services.
In October 2006, he was appointed corporate officer by the LOSC’s Board of Directors for a period of two years. His employment contract was then suspended for the duration of the mandate. On 7 April 2009, his term of office was extended to 2013 and he received a raise.
However, his career at the club was to end a few weeks later. Indeed, at the end of the 2008-2009 season, the club considered sacking the head coach, Mr Rudi Garcia, but since no viable replacement was found, the coach was kept on.
