On 3 May 2019, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (UEFA CEDB) rejected the protests lodged by the Luxembourg and the Portuguese Football Federations in relation to the eligibility of Ukraine’s player Mr Júnior Moraes.

The Ukrainian national football team has remarkably started its way to EURO 2020, drawing its first match against Portugal (0-0) and winning against Luxembourg (1-2). Both qualifying round matches were played away.
