Uruguayan Football Association Elections – FIFA Regularization Committee Ends its Term

In August 2018, due to irregularities in the electoral process of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), FIFA had decided to intervene, appointing a Regularization Committee, whose term was due to end on 28 February 2019.* Update on the situation to date. 

The Committee was tasked to manage the daily activities of the AUF, reviewing and approving its new Statutes, so these Statutes would be in line with those of FIFA and CONMEBOL. The Regularization Committee was also requested to organize and carry out the elections of the AUF Board of Directors, in accordance with the newly approved Statutes. The Regularization Committee was composed of Dr Pedro Bordaberry (President), Mr Andrés Scotti and Mr Armando Castaingdebat.
