Valencia CF has warned the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) of the "possible illegality of the alteration of the bases of the competition in the current season" of the item 'Approval of the new competition model and, where appropriate, calendar of the Spanish Super Cup'.

The “Supercopa de España” - or the Spanish Super Cup - is a Spanish football championship traditionally played by the winners of the League and the Copa del Rey of the previous season. In case the same club wins both competitions, it is played by the champion of the League and the Cup’s finalist.
